class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Power coming into the property is monitored by a Current Transformer (CT) that clamps around the property\u2019s incoming power cable and is then connected to the charge point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The CT has a cable allowing it to be connected to the charge point.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional cable may be added to the CT cable but to maintain a good signal, it is recommended that cables extensions are kept as short as possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Connect the Wire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-heading\">Connect the CT to the Property<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>The CT clamp should be positioned around the phase cable between the Meter and the Consumer Unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The arrow shown on the CT clamp must point in the direction of <strong>electrical flow TOWARD the consumer unit<\/strong>.<br>\u2022 Alternatively, if required, the CT clamp may be positioned on the Neutral cable leaving the Consumer Unit.
